Come on, there's an upside to this.

Its funny how you managed to sidestep the questions while calling me a shill.

What was the incidence of cysts or nodules in the same population before the release, because if you don't know that and compare the 2 rates you don't know shit.

A single point statistic is useless in determaning the CHANGE in the population.

No, Oh Wise One.

The problem is that 35% of children have 'nodules' in their glands. This is twenty-times the level reported at Chernobyl at the same point in time after the reactors released their contents to the elements.

Without the nukes, where do you and they think that they will be getting their electricity? The alternative energy fairy?

Y'know - I don't know where they'll get the power from.

some (government) entity has estimated (calculated?) that there will be a 17% insufficiency of electricity this summer when air conditioners are switched on.

Some shops and offices are already using the air cons, but in the main big cities up North this won't happen for another couple of months.

Ordinarily, saving 17% of electricity is something I think most people could manage. It appears the lack of power is expected to have its impact felt in the area of industry. Ordinary electricity users have either already had, or are in the process of having - their electricity charges increased by around 17%. Our electricity where I live (in the South) goes up starting this month which we have just begun.

My personal opinion is that those heavy users of power such as in aluminium electrolysis and the car industry had better start to make steps to obtain their own power rather than have the general public subsidise their massive appetites for power.

Of course what I think doesn't count for squat.

A country like Japan has the capability to utilise geothermal energy on a level comparable to Iceland - and effectively become a nett energy exporter. It is interesting how such relatively inexpensive and relatively safe methods of obtaining electricity are not used - except some intrepid Japanese who happen to live in areas where geothermal plants can be built have made their own - very small-scale plants that provide electricity to a large hotel or holiday hot-spring resort.

Again, what I think doesn't matter.

Where will they get the power from? Well I don't know, but I do know there are no shortage of ways electricity can be obtained, and using oil rather than nukes is one option - however expensive.

I personally can easily save half of my bill if I had to.

How about the people here would rather not live with those dangerous nuclear power stations and it's WELL PAST TIME steps should have been taken to get us away from nuclear reactors? Most reactors here are creaking old plants past their intended service lives. The people have had enough.

The operators have been happily and profitably using nukes all this time and using forged data and bribes to keep the infernal things going. If the damn thing had been used as intended and sufficient thought was put into preventing a meltdown under any circumstances that are conceivable then perhaps there might still be a space for nuclear power stations. But the cheating operators and the corrupt government simply cannot be trusted, and they don't deserve any more chances to smarten up their act.

Surely it's worth a while of shortages as other methods of obtaining power are quickly brought into operation?

Did you also read the story that 113 people of 139 tested positive for cesium in their urine?
