the latest according to spaceweather, is we have 6 earth facing sunspots at the moment. out of those six, sunspots 1190 and 1193 have the ability to create some good sized flares. 1190 may shoot out some m class flares.

good stuff. looks like earth is scheduled to take a pretty big hit around the 19th and 20th.

well...the reason the sun is so active now is because it was in a really long minimum, and next year we should be hitting the peak of the maximum, so if nothing this year, maybe next year can be the year we see some pretty significant effects from the sun in our daily lives. but the sun has done some pretty unpredictable things so far already just this year, so at this point i don't think anyone is too sure. we all are learning something new everyday, so we should have a better idea before something of that magnitude happens.

thanks man. in times like these it is important to be informed on the info that usually goes unnoticed. it is unnoticed not because it isn't important, its just most don't understand the consequences of certain events so they choose to completely ignore it. the sun could wipe us all out really quickly, and only those who pay attention to it would know beforehand. 95% of the world could die without ever knowing what happened. now i am not saying that is going to happen, but like a lot of things it is a possibility, and it is because we should all spread the latest info as it may be important, and even if its not a big thing, it is all good info either way.
