The Evil AC  Wrote:
They put one on my house not long ago. I went out to tell the "engineer" that he did not have my permission to install it and he actually told me that it wasn't a smart meter. Idiots.

So far they haven't turned on the radio but when they do I'm going to crack it and turn it the f*ck off. Tampering with what? The illegal transceiver you installed on my property? Prove it.

I need to work on my next door neighbor now. The house just sold.

I hope he's nice and decides to pay the money to switch it out.

I would demand it. They will charge you but it's worth it.

They could selectively turn off your appliances with it.

Got a deep freezer?

doomed

I'd be worried about them putting another one on.

You'll raise hell but to no avail I'm afraid.

I've heard of people wrapping them in metal to keep the emissions from polluting them. This also interferes with the wireless broadcast to the power company. They will have to come check it manually anyway, which I think is hilarious. If everyone did it, maybe they'd get the point.

I never really thought about it before this thread but I bet we have one too.I haven't seen a meter reader in years! Ours is mounted on the outside of our garage. Should I worry it's 'too close for comfort'?

I got a card in the mail yesterday that FP&L will be coming out to install a Smart Meter "soon." (Daytona Beach)

Bump

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.
