Girl Scouts under scrutiny from Catholic bishops

Long a lightning rod for conservative criticism, the Girl Scouts of the USA are now facing their highest-level challenge yet: An official inquiry by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

At issue are concerns about program materials that some Catholics find offensive, as well as assertions that the Scouts associate with other groups espousing stances that conflict with church teaching. The Scouts, who have numerous parish-sponsored troops, deny many of the claims and defend their alliances.

Maybe you should know what you are talking about before spouting off like a fool.

This had been looked into at the request of the parents who were told lies by far right media. Turns out that very little was true and there was nothing to be concerned about.

Here's a news flash for the Catholic Bishops: The Girls Scouts are a non denominational organization as far as I remember - I'm protestant and they let me in!

They need to mind their own business when it has nothing to do with their own religious teaching.

Parents and parishioners have been given false information about the organization. So it is in fact the bishops business if the church donates resources. Let's get our facts straight.

When you say "they", you are talking about a few bad people. You seem to group every priest in that category. Statistically speaking, if you are a man, then you are more likely to be a pedophile than a priest. In fact, it would be just as easy to call Americans pedophiles, since it is more prevalent in the general public. Your argument is in fact flawed and wrong from every angle. If you wish to hate Catholics or the church, that is your business, but do not build a case from this ridiculous standpoint.
