She's still going to downgrade before heading in Japan. They don't maintain strong intensity like that for very long, but go ahead and keep the doom alive.
Not so...In fact they are predicting her to intensify more

http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-ne...japa/66638

The numbers are pretty interesting also...
Chernobyl reactor # 4 is not air tight and leaking 100 times normal radiation levels.
Typhoon # 4 of this season.
Spent fuel rod pool # 4
4X3=12
1+2=3

Just sayin.

MAJOR STORM ALERT: 150mph Syper Typhoon Guchol Targets Japan - The Highest Category Storm, is "Expected to Intensify" as it Tracks Near the Fukushima Nuclear Radiation Zone!

If Guchol were an Atlantic Hurricane, it would be considered a strong Category 4 storm. While Guchol is currently bringing minimal impacts to civilization in its current location in the Philippine Sea, this is likely to change as Guchol continues to head north over the next few days. Not only will Guchol continue to head towards more populated islands, but the storm is also expected to intensify further, or at the very least maintain it intensity over the next 24 hours. Conditions for Guchol have been favorable over the past 24 hours, with low wind shear and warm ocean waters feeding the storm

RE: Global Panic Alert - Fukushima Takes Final Hit - Typhoon Guchol
I tried to sleep, but I couldn't relax. My current wife phoning me was the point at which I gave up.

I ignored the phone, but got dressed and went to do my list of jobs. Funny thing was that my wife phoned to ask me to go an secure her mother's house(s). I got back here half an hour ago and I listened to the message.

Well, everything's done now, but I'm not too sure about a plastic sheet weighed down with rocks 'n stuff keeping my plants safe... not much else I can do.

The wind is picking up, and the sky is full of clouds. Nothing's flying around yet, but I'm not expecting that for another ten hours or so.

I know all my stuff is pretty safe and isn't likely to be blown about, but my neighbour!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me:- "Ah Mr Nakahara. Here's some of your wood. I had to take it out of my head, so I'm sorry about the bloodstains and the dents. And I found your stack of scrap metal sheets. They went through my windscreen and wedged themselves safely in the upholstery so they are pretty much undamaged."

Your forecast and the one above yours are quite different to extremes. Which one is correect?

They both are correct, but the difference is mine is the forecast for Fukushima or what this thread is about.

The forecast he posted is the current strength and position, but it will weaken significantly.

That's also assuming the storm stays on the current track. Forecasts this far our have a margin of error of about 300 miles. That's what the rings represent. They get larger later in the forecast to show the margin of error. In the states we use cones instead of the rings.

Damn you suck,lol

you were so wrong 150 mile an hour and gaining.

Based on experience I'd say this typhoon isn't going to be so bad.

By the looks of it, it's taking a more southerly route which takes it away from the islands a bit. By the time it hits the mainland it will be weaker, and soon become mild.

It doesn't look like it's heading anywhere near Fukushima, and even if it did it wouldn't be dangerous by the time it got there.

The only unknown variable is the amount of rain it will bring.

Ah well! At least I'm ready for it this time. Last year I lost my entire garden due to a smallish typhoon because I wasn't prepared.

My niece is stationed at Okinawa which is on Naha Island...

Its sooooo big it will last for soooo long, and those islands are tiny. So they wont do anything to weaken it

doomed

"Lest we be 'terrified by our adversaries,' it is well to remember that Satan’s power is not inherent but permitted (Romans 13:1). It is not unlimited, but controlled (Job 1:12; 2:6). It is not invincible, but broken (Luke 11:21-11). It is not assured of success, but is surely doomed "(Revelation 20:2-3)

Usually when these storms move north (cooler temperatures), and over land they loose strength.
Lets hope that will be the case with this one.

Don't worry Norma Jean. Those military installations on Oki have weathered many a Typhoon.

Even if Guchol makes landfall, it should have weakened some while in the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands, and the storngest winds usually occur on the right side of the storm track, meaning only places in and southeast of the eye would see the storms strongest winds.

Instead, the main threat the storm poses to the main island of Japan will be its torrential rains. Heavy rain could lead to mudslides and flash flooding, especially in the mountains just west of Tokyo.

They have, I went through a Super Typhoon before with sustained winds of 140mph on a military base--they build those places to withstand these storms.
