Typhoon Guchol is headed for Fukishima, Japan. What will be the result when 150-mph winds hits the unstable, creaking and possibly leaking hulks of the Fukishima nuclear reactor plant? The Political Commentator has the scoop and it doesn’t look at all pretty.

It is funny (to me) watching typhoon 4 just hovering off the coast of Fukushima where the remains of the reactors are.

What's next? Another eq is definitely on the cards, and typhoon season has really only just begun.

I just heard our NHK news and they mentioned my prefecture's main electricity generating outfit is set to start one of their redundant reactors - because there is apparently a power shortage.

Stupid bastards.

By Wednesday at 5:30 am (2030 GMT Tuesday), the strongest winds had died down in the capital and the situation was progressively improving in the northeast.
The typhoon -- the first tropical storm to make a landfall on Japan this year, and the first since 2004 to do so as early as June -- was now several dozen kilometres from the coast of Sendai.

Looks like we're all still safe! Wow another close call Lmao

Cooter. Someone got the date wrong. We're all going to die in this new one that's creeping up now.

The last one we had here a 77 year old man died after he (allegedly) got blown off the road into a river. My neighbour's scooter got blown over as well! This one could be even worse.

Category 5 hurricane, according to The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). A super typhoon is a storm with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph or higher.

Rainfall of 1-2 feet is not out of the question, especially in mountainous terrain of South Korea.

"The worst case scenario is a widespread flooding disaster," AccuWeather Expert Senior Meteorologist Jim Andrews said.

That typhoon is heading for me here in Amami.

All the gennys are operational, lots of batteries charged, enough food for a few days and flashlights all over the place.

* More generators than necessary... one of my hobbies is fixing them so I've got several.
