teach Go to college and get bankrupt
Summary: It\'s that time of the year when hundreds of thousands of students are graduating college in America. The bleek job prospects in the US are only making it tougher to pay off student loans that have exceeded $1 trillion. So will the student loan bubble burst any time soon? Kyle McCarthy, director of community outreach at Default, joins us to explain the toll that student debt is taking on America.

College is THE biggest scam on the planet.

It's so funny how people think a few years at school and a piece of paper make them so much better than others. It's the ultimate PRIDE booster, and pride is the cause of most arguments and a lot of the world's problems.

Ephesians 2:8

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

People think their job and their money and their car and their degree make them so special. God doesn't care about any of that.

Indentured into servitude to banksters and the FEd gov.

Student loan debt can't be discharged through bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy is a good thing, compared to indentured slavery.

Definitely. Yet, millions are now tangled up in such Indentured Servitude... of course they could always go the other temporary Slavery route and join the militaries.

RE: Go to college and get bankrupt
The US Government loves college students.

Borrow your way through college. Become desperate when you can't find work and can no longer keep your loan balance in forbearance. Run out of hope and fall into depression. In an act of last resort, you sign your life away to become property of the United States Government and enlist with promises of your loans being paid off after you do your time. You go and put your life in the hands of leaders taking part in bullshit wars in order for the elite to profit. If you're fortunate and come back alive, maybe your loan debt will be wiped out but your mental state is now completely f*cked for life.

Some college is good.

I've had a lot of "some college" chuckle just never finished a degree.

Once I decided to ignore the degree requirements and 200freshman packed classes, I benefited from it.

But I was lucky with my bad luck, and only had to deal with about $1700 worth of debt before deciding student loans was a racket.

It should be a product like anything else. YOU PICK what you want, all courses have equal value.

The problem with a liberal arts education(bachelor of arts degree) is it's supposed to expose you to a wide range of subjects without really giving you practical skills in a field.

And that high school wastes people's potential, often ruining them before college.

Reforms are needed.

Both high schools and colleges are sort of just holding pens these days.

The worst part is the banks never had most of the money they loaned out to begin with.

This could be corrected by writing down the debt and reforming the educational system.

When I was in college, state university tuition was only about $1100 a semester. Community colleges were dirt cheap.

I'm sure somebody will chime in with the "well I paid for my college, why should these people get a free ride" meme, but I counter that with "their enslavement is your demise." They don't have any money to spend, so the economy tanks.

Odious debt can't and won't be paid. Wipe it out. Re-reform bankruptcy. That's what it's for. Make it easier, wipe out a lot of that debt, reform the systems that are bankrupt, move forward.

The rich will benefit from debts that CAN BE REPAID.

Great point. Stressing the degree is like Bush's retarded "no child left behind" testing.

And with a functioning internet, you can learn all kinds of things on your own.

But some of those lectures are very good. And the interaction is valuable.

Here's a tip for college students: ask good questions, especially when nobody else is participating. I had a lot of classes where the students were asleep basically, or too timid to ask questions.

Professors need interaction. And it pays off in GPA if you help in that way. They will cut you a lot of slack on late assignments and such, if you help make the lectures lively and informative with good questions.
