This is noting new, it's just finally being exposed.
I was a delegate to the King County Republican convention in 2000 (Seattle/Bellevue) and the party apparatchiks made sure it was a Bush landslide even though state law said it was supposed to be proportional.
At the time I didn't know how much of a wingnut McCain was, but I was trying to nip W in the bud, end him in primary season.
That was the correct impulse IMO, but there was no good choice other than Ralph Nader that election.
Bradley might have been ok.
But this party goonery is the same thing republicans hate Unions for.

RE: Governor of Maine Threatens RNC Boycott if Ron Paul Delegates Aren't Seated
The GOP wants Ron Paul's platform, ideas and record erased. Ron Paul won
the majority of delegates from Iowa, Minnesota and Maine. Many other States delegates were stolen.
Romney and the GOP will lose in 2012 with their blatant disregard for Ron
Paul, his positions and his supporters. The master plan of Obama getting elected and finishing off our once proud and just Nation is set in stone.

I fully expect some arcane law to be dug up where they will attempt to arrest any delegate that does not support Mitt.
Under the heat of an alien sun .....

I expect them to f*ck up the accommodations and transportation for Paul Delegates.
That's all assigned/micromanaged by a committee.
You stay at the hotel they assign, and get to and from the convention by buses they assign.

Is it in the power of that Governor to decide that the Republican Party cannot be on the Ballot in the State of Maine?
IF the party is acting illegally, is it possible that the Supreme Court of the State of Maine could decree an injunction against the Republican Party from being on the Maine election ballots?
Just a wonder...

Mitt Obama cannot win either if the People decide otherwise.
It is not who votes for whom that counts, its who counts the votes.

And as you well know, Ralph Nader was not in the Republican Party either.
The Republican Party's business is its own business. If you aren't registered as Republican or Democrat or Constitution or Libertarian or Green .. then you seem to have no choice but to wait for the general election day to have any say at all.
As far as I am concerned its perfectly fine to me if the Republican Party and the Democratic Party both decide to commit suicide, perhaps assisting each other to do so.

Yeah but they REFUSE to!
The democrats could have stuck a fork in the GOP in 2009, simply by being traditional democrats. New Deal 2.0 would have decimated the GOP, it never would have recovered from W.
And conversely, look at what the GOP is doing right now. All they had to do was nominate a real republican.
This is the worst good cop bad cop act ever.
The party faithful gobble it up like manna from heaven.

RE: Governor of Maine Threatens RNC Boycott if Ron Paul Delegates Aren't Seated
Ron Paul: Join Me For Some Fun In Tampa
Dear Liberty Activist,
The Republican National Convention is rapidly approaching.
And my staff and legal team have been feverishly working to prepare for the credentials’ battle and platform fights we expect to have in Tampa.
Of course, we’re working very hard to achieve our goals in Tampa.
But as you’ve heard me say many times, we must also make sure to have some fun in the process.
So today, I wanted to let you know about some of the fun and exciting events we have planned for Tampa.
1) We are the Future Rally
The first event we have planned is our “We are the Future Rally” taking place on Sunday, August 26, at the Sun Dome in Tampa from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
At the rally, we will celebrate our liberty movement’s success at influencing and changing the direction of the Republican Party.
Doug Wead, Congressman Justin Amash, Barry Goldwater, Jr., Jack Hunter, and my son, Senator Rand Paul, will speak at the Rally.
We’ll also hear from some of our new leaders for the future, like State Senator Tom Davis in South Carolina and 21-year-old National Committeewoman Ashley Ryan from Maine.
As for entertainment, Jimmie Vaughan, Aimee Allen, Jordan Page, and John Popper of Blues Traveler with Ron Noyes will also provide live entertainment.
And to cap it all off, I’ll be delivering the speech the Republican National Convention doesn’t want the rest of America to hear....

Not fun enough.

Yeah, but all the war presidents before him were democrats.
