RE: Have you ever had or seen an object that mysteriously vanished/appeared?
I was working at the computer in a little study/workshop in my house. My girl friend was in the chair next to me talking when there was a little *pop* sound, like air pressure released, and then something fell to the floor underneath the table top, right next to my foot. Looked down, and there was a hardback book I'd lost a month or two before.
I looked all over for it one day, wrote it off as gone and forgot about it.
I call it taken away and brought back.
The book was nothing special, it was about making your own telescope mirrors. I still have it. It's a strange world and people don't know everything, thank goodness.

Another item just went missing and my partner is tearing apart the place (which honestly is pretty sparse and things shouldn't go missing like they do) and I just joked "it's in another timeline" and he got pissed at me. Oops. :) But no seriously. I think it's in another timeline. And I know when it split off too..... that day that I died back in July? or end of June?

Quit dying, seriously...knock that stuff off.
Someone got into our heads, with big steel toed boots, cable cutters, and a chainsaw...they went to town. Neurons got exposed, curcuits got rewired. Our brain cells got obliterated... (Denzel Washington..."The Manchurian Candidate".)

LOL I sorta can't. But it doesn't matter because I've been dead, like forever. So have you. The difference is you don't know it yet....or do you....

I mean that you and I have been alive and died before many times - think about this way... you share dna with your ancestors, and they before them....in a way you are a piece of your father and mother... hmm.... I don't know how to articulate this well. Maybe it's like this: I am beginning to remember past lives, and how I died in them. (I know that sounds totally lunatic...but I haven't figured out how best to word it.) And death doesn't just happen ... say... right at the very end of your life like you think it does. It happens multiple times (I would say I have nine lives) throughout what you think is one lifetime. We are simply regenerations of our parents and their parents, on and on....like in a petri dish.... I am scared of snakes... now there is no reason for this. Except that my DNA remembers a time when I died by snake bite. Make sense?

:-) reminds me of this:
“Once we were blobs in the sea, and then fishes, and then lizards and rats, and then monkeys, and hundreds of things in between. This hand was once a fin, this hand once had claws! In my human mouth I have the pointy teeth of a wolf and the chisel teeth of a rabbit and the grinding teeth of a cow! Our blood is as salty as the sea we used to live in! When we're frightened, the hair on our skin stands up, just like it did when we had fur. We ARE history! Everything we've ever been on the way to becoming us, we still are. Would you like the rest of the story?
I'm made up of the memories of my parents and my grandparents, all my ancestors. They're in the way I look, in the color of my hair. And I'm made up of everyone I've ever met who's changed the way I think. ”

Oh wow, I love that! I never read any Pratchett but now I have to. He's got it right on the nose!
