Most likely formerly wealthy. Lost everything in the 2008 financial collapse. Couldn't pay rent so he took his guns hit the road with his car. Then, slowly over time became enraged at the political and financial institutions that were ultimately responsible for his fall to serfdom.

Luckily he was caught before he had a chance to REALLY make life miserable for gun owners.

Although, I don't feel ALL bad for gun owners. They are typically go along to get along, 'As long as they don't come for my guns'. I would feel worse for the family members of those who might have been shot.

That is why gun owners will loose their right to keep guns. Because they will only stand up for themselves. All the gov has to do is slowly keep adding regulations here and there. Then, when there is an incident like this or aurora highlight it in the media.

Done deal.

If you know anything about Cali, this sentence from the story make no sense. Where did they find the weapons the first time? We're they all locked up in his trunk with no ammo nearby? They were more worried about his mental health. Makes me think if that's true, he was transporting them legally as I'm sure they checked the weapons but they didn't do a full search? You're not allowed to carry in the car in cali. But this story stinks.

It turned out to be Johns’ second arrest. In late June police took him into custody for having weapons in his car, but were more concerned about his mental health. John was evaluated and then later released. Chief Suhr defended those officers when asked why they hadn’t done a full search of the car at that time.
