I have been cutting lawns for over 20 years.. I have always purchased Honda Self Propelled Mowers as my trim mowers and for cutting small yards..(HR 216).. Well I purchased 2 new ones last year.. I ran it for half a season and the Rear Tire tread Fell off..(On both sides)..So I took it back to where I purchased the Mower and put it in for service..(Bobs Weld Shop...BTW they told me that at least 8 mowers were returned to them with the same problem).When I picked up the Mower I was told that Honda would not cover the parts because they said this was due to customers hitting curbs.. Since I had one mower in the shop ..I had to get out the new back up and run it.. So after only 4 weeks of use.. The fricken tires fell off the back of this mower also.. All I can say is Honda Mower Customer Service Sucks...

well I know nothing about mowers, but why don't you email Honda and tell them you'll TWEET and FACEBOOK their crappy service all over the net and start a boycott. That usually gets their attention.

i know tires are not included in the warranty..that sucks...and sounds like a bad lot used in production..

silly thought but does honda make the tires or does another company supply them?

side note:

my honda 217 hrx mower the locking pins broke off on the handle..that was freaky..
my husband could not get the shift box off the old one ..the screw was stripped..so i took the replacement handle back

and i had the idea of fixing it with a shit load of tie wraps (the heavy weight ones..so far it is working
i mention it because my husband poo-pooed the idea..

why can't men realize that women have good ideers too Wink

Hey Maven.. I would not even call these tires.. They are just a thin circle of grooved rubber like material stretched over a plastic wheel...

sounds like a built in excuse about hitting curbs..i would think honda had better standards..
