Ok, Walmart has a hot spot "Box" for $99.00. Then you can buy a card for as little as $10 for 450 MB. Apparently is is good up to one year, but you probably be using up the 450 MB in a few weeks. There are other brands with different benefits.

Does anyone have any experience with these. A friend said the 3 or 4G would be faster than my 6 mb (relly 5) speed.

The walmart box is just another Mifi probably 3g / 4g. If you want to go that route, check out millenicom.com, they sell no-contract service and have plans for unlimited bandwidth for $69, and 20 GB per month for $59. Hugs

I've read that there are possible health risks involved with routers. The waves can affect the body if they are prolonged and constant and close. I recommend playing it safe and going with DSL.

I've used two wireless hubs like that and they were both extremely slow and really awful. It is not dependable at all. Keep the DSL.

That actually sounds good. A buddy of mine has one of those verizon hot spot deals and they cap him at 4 gigs a month. I think that's F***ing ridiculous, and he always ends up paying out the ass for going over.

Damn! That's expensive. 3 years ago i payed 199 SEK ($30) for unlimited turbo-3G access (7.2 Mb down/0.384 Mb up).

FWIW, I can use my cell phone as a WiFi hotspot for $10 / GB

We did that in January of this year.

My friggin cell phone bill was $1,200 USD that month.

I immediately got my Comcast service back in February. S977

Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me.

LOL

But seriously, wireless connections are capped at an extremely restrictive level, so DSL might be a better choice for now.

My DSL costs me $29.95 a month no matter how much I use it. It is plenty fast enough for anything I need to do. Never fix what isn't broken.
