How Cannabis Can Revolutionize Our Economy

"How can you have 56 percent of Americans in support of fully ending the drug war, and zero senators in support of it?" asks Doug Fine, investigative journalist and author of new book, Too High To Fail.

Fine sat down with ReasonTV's Tracy Oppenheimer to discuss his time spent in the cannabis capital of California, Mendocino County, and why he thinks this drug can help save the American economy. And it's not just about collecting taxes.

"The industrial [uses] may one day dwarf the psychoactive ones. If we start using it for fermentation for our energy needs, it can produce great biofuels," says Fine, "already, cannabis is in the bumpers of Dodge Vipers."

Sadly, the retards at the top would rather go to war than to let that happen.

Let us call a truce to terror. Let us invoke the blessings of peace. And as we build an international capacity to keep peace, let us join in dismantling the national capacity to wage war.

A little off topic here but damn, Tracy is HOT!!!

As for the mary jane, of course it makes sense to legalize it, but it has to be done properly without a bunch of bureacracy attached to it. It would definitely bring in a lot of revenue and take a lot of cops off the streets and prisoners out of jail. The problem is where will all that extra revenue go? You see, politicians love playing with more money when it is in the pot. You give them more money to play with and they do what they want with it without the consent of the people most of the time. This is the only problem I have with legalizing it; otherwise, I think it would be awesome.

Totally agree

thx for the comments all

ya legalizing it makes perfect sense but what most people don't grasp is that the war on drugs is a war on us and our government feeds off it...

RE: How Cannabis Can Revolutionize Our Economy
Nice one UC Dat. Plain and simple, alcohol poisons your body and your mind, cannabis heals it and makes you feel nice. Knowing that the TPTB love to get us destroying ourselves and then pretending they are just letting us have our freedom is the main thing to understand.

Because if the fact of the matter was that letting us have harmful substances if we choose to, is protecting our freedom, then why the f*ck are the two very worst substances legal (beer/cigs) while other milder substance are illegal (magic mushrooms anyone?).

So yeah, great post, but I have come to realize the "ongoing debate" is just a hoax to make people think that there is a good reason it is illegal. There isn't, it's all smoke mirrors and horseshit. Oh yeah and let's not forget it is really just CIA racketeering above all else.
