There is no dishonor in serving your country through military service. One man can bring all the troops home and he will. Then, and only then, we will have a true national defense, instead of the international offense we have right now.

I helped create it. And the Ad Agency is in Michigan, not NYC. A (now retired) Senior Chief who sat next to me at work created the "America's Navy" logo.

The US Navy has done an enormous amount of Humanitarian Missions. The Mercy and the Comfort do a LOT of good.

I am a Disabled Navy Veteran, and still have no problem working for them as a Civilian. I don't agree with all the Military's policies, and adventures, but my experiences with Navy, beside that one time, have been pretty good, and I've not only been treated well, I'm allowed to do some very cool community-humanitarian stuff. As I type, the Navy Command at which I work has already gathered 6 tons of canned goods, and other non-perishable goods to donate to the Mid-South Food Bank. We've been at it for a month, and Navy will load it all in to the Food Bank on September 6th, in partnership with the Southern Heritage Classic Football Game. Even Dr. Postman will have pics to post about his. It'll make the news.

What I'm saying is this-- not all Service Members are Gung-Ho killers. I work with a lot of very good, very caring Sailors and Officers who honestly can't wait for these wars to be over, and who really go the extra mile to do volunteer work, and good things in this pretty needy area.

Heck, when the Big Flood hit, our Admiral housed 6 flood victims from the trailer park at his house. Yes, Day 02 he had to post a Watch Bill over the liquor cabinet, but he laughed it off, and took care of them, and really took care of everyone, and everything in his charge extraordinarily well. All the Navy Medical Personnel volunteered to provide free care to everyone affected by the floods.

FUN FACT: The building to the extreme right of that picture is the Army Corps of Engineers Building Regional HQ... Flooded. That building's interior needed a complete gutting and redo. The red brick building to the left-- looks like three triangles-- in the middle of the gasoline slick is the Chapel. It's good to have it open again. Sadly, the building at the bottom right is the Navy College. They were really hit hard.

FUN FACT: This ad was only just recently dusted off, and made public.

This very ad was set to roll-out on October 1, 2001.

9/11 happened, and this, and another ad showing two kids enjoying some ice cream on a summer day were totally scrapped, as we needed to take on a much more aggressive image. It was great seeing this ad come back.

I am extra-happy to see Navy's HUGE Humanitarian Mission in focus, again.

I believe that no matter how hard one strives to be GOOD, and Proper, and Righteous, at at least one moment in every person's life, one WILL be asked by someone to whom one cannot say no, to do something utterly repugnant, and against every moral fiber one has worked to wear.

How we deal with that moment defines our character for a long, long time.

Am I to assume you are unaware that countries like Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, ect... have the internet? I realize you are dumb enough to believe "they hate us for our freedom" but I was not prepared for this level of stupidity.
