They give you a debriefing and a review of NSA non-disclosure stuff when your term of enlistment/commission is over. There are plenty of SF guys around you every day in life, they just don't volunteer it. Usually a family member, spouse or close friend is the only way you ever find out that somebody did anything more exciting than peel potatoes or repair engines when they were in the military.

What surprises me as much as anything is not that the media and official sources speak this stuff, but that SO MANY Americans believe this "official version" and want to believe all that is said about OBL.

Wrong. I know a few IRL, mostly they get employed by mercenary outfits like Blackwater, or other private security firms.

A few even get pissed off and run their mouths.
