How many people here want DOOM?
I'm just interested, because it seems like a lot of forums like this attract people that actually want doom. I, on the other hand, do not wish for doom. I can't stand doom, actually, but I know it happens all the time. I like and prefer to stay informed of what is going on in the world. Wishing for doom is not a healthy thing. It can eat you alive. All of that negative energy is bad.

RE: How many people here want DOOM?
Like many other things in my life, it is a love hate relationship.

"In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it’s impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves. And then, in that very moment when I love them.... I destroy them."

People act as if they want doom just to have something to talk about. But that is just my opinion.

RE: How many people here want DOOM?
You think life now isn't bad? Lucky you... yes, I want doom. Call this harsh, but often I just want everyone on Earth to just die off at once so neither the Good or the Oppressive win. Life for me is just going to struggle making a decent living and trying to live happy about it. And I DEFINITELY am not the one having it the harshest right now either - some other poor soul has got it worse than me and I feel for them so much that I don't think they deserve it either. I'm feeling shitty for complete strangers here. Just want it over with this modern life.

When a leaf falls, who's fault is it?
The tree that let it go,
The wind for blowing it away,
Or the leaf that got tired of holding on?

I don't think so or agree. I think a lot of people genuinely hope and wish for doom for different reasons. The elites could want doom to depopulate the world. The poor could want doom to put them out of their misery. The list goes on. Doom is an easy way out because it isn't always something you can control. Mother nature provides doom that is essentially uncontrollable. Humans can control their actions to a certain degree but most humans are not very brave. As in, not brave enough to stand up to the tyranny of the world. In thinking this way, doom ends up being a good solution. Quick and deadly doom for most of the global population is a great solution for a lot of doom addicts.

agreed. A reset does need to occur, but it should be a healthy reset. Not a negative one.

Do you think that because you assume people think like you do? If so have you considered that we as people interpret others actions based on how we are and not how things actually are? Maybe a small percentage of people want doom but on this site who knows. To answer your OP I dont want doom and I dont think any other parent would want doom.

BTW good post 5* because this makes people think.

RE: How many people here want DOOM?
The doom I would want would be a solar flare that knocked out all the technology on the planet. I'm a gadget freak and I use high tech devices all the time but I believe this planet would benefit if we all had to get back to the basics and work together again.

I could do without the other dooms....doomed

RE: How many people here want DOOM?
I think if the internet had been around for a thousand years ppl would be anticipating doom and hoping for it,i imagine that ppl who want doom are either unhappy with life, bored with where they are in life or as stated want a reset of sorts, but im sure that if doom did happen,or total chaos ,many would change that view very quickly and long for it to be as it was. Alot of ppl are in a real shit situation, good and bad ppl but if a doom hoper could call in that doom there is still alot of happy ppl and ppl trying to do good that would suffer horrifically, would they still want doom knowing the misery and suffering it would bring on inocent ppl just because they are not happy with their particular situation or their own view of the planets situation?

Would it really be "suffering" if everyone took their phone out of their face and tossed it to the ground and had to get down and work in a garden with their neighbors? Conversations might actually be had... oh the horror....
