A TWISTED pet owner was being hunted last night over a vile "Christmas video" of him feeding a playful kitten to a PYTHON.

The monster — in his 20s — callously places the cuddly bundle of fur called Jasmine into a Santa hat to carry her to her doom in a bedroom.

Once the kitten's tail stops flapping the snake swallows her whole — head first.

The crushed kitten's cries of agony as the life is squeezed out of her are drowned out by the strains of Christmas song Little Drummer Boy.

Chillingly, a footnote to the seven-minute footage — entitled "Python Christmas" — promises more "feeding videos". It was posted on a site called Flix from an account registered in Islington, North London.

The RSPCA last night asked Sun readers to help them track down the individual behind the "sickening" clip.

Having watched the video, I have to say that, on full consideration of the circumstances, I am confused as to whether this is wrong or not...

* I think badgering is wrong;
* I think dog fighting is wrong;
* I don't think it is wrong that dogs fight each other in the wild...

and this is where the confusion/blur begins

* I don't think it is particularly wrong to feed a rat to a snake (this is quite common)
* I don't think it is wrong for a cat to catch and eat mice
* I don't think it is wrong for a wild snake to eat a cat

Is it wrong to "feed a cat" to a particularly big snake?

Perhaps it is just wrong to watch it.

You don't feed companion animals to pythons. Humans interfered with their evolution and they are now completely genetically tuned into us. You don't change an animal, bond it to people, and then callously treat it in that manner.

most people with pythons feed them Rats And/or mice.

Mice and Rats are actually a very common and increasingly popular pet.

Therefore, what people are saying is it's absolutely criminal to feed the Python one kind of pet (i.e., a kitten), but it's perfectly okay to feed the Python another kind of pet (the IEA rats).

Ethical is one thing and I get the nature thing, but culturally acceptable is another and feeding a kitten to a snake for entertainment isn't considered culturally acceptable.
