please provide a list an example of each, as well as your reasoning as to exactly why it ethical to feed one kind of animal to the Python but not another
You don't feed companion animals to pythons. Humans interfered with their evolution and they are now completely genetically tuned into us. You don't change an animal, bond it to people, and then callously treat it in that manner.
Hunt the psycho prick down and lock him up before he hurts a person.
I've known people with pet rats will tell you the rats are a much more intelligent companion than a cat ever will be

ah! it's an uncomfortable reality, isn't it?
Instead of insulting me, why not try to actually answer the question?
That was an actual answer
Ethical is one thing and I get the nature thing, but culturally acceptable is another and feeding a kitten to a snake for entertainment isn't considered culturally acceptable.
yes, but people are treating this guy like he's a world-class criminal.
Doing something that isn't "culturally acceptable" is not the same as committing a horrible crime

I think he is a scumbag who should be punched in the face, but I don't consider him a criminal.

That's what I was wondering.
Is a baby duck ok ?
a rat ?
a hamster ?
a house hippo ?
Yeah, per my following post, I'm not certain. If I owned a massive snake and really loved it as my pet, I would kind of want to see it in all its awesomeness.
I had a part dingo dog in Australia (where I grew up) and was always proud of him when he came home with something he had caught (hares and stuff). He was a lovely dog but I also liked his brutal side.
Have never owned a reptile, in fact as an adult, I find the notion of owning pets completely redundant.
In any case, the article has me questioning some things.
I was great. You loved it.

Lapis Lazuli Wrote:munit Wrote:Having watched the video, I have to say that, on full consideration of the circumstances, I am confused as to whether this is wrong or not...
* I think badgering is wrong;
* I think dog fighting is wrong;
* I don't think it is wrong that dogs fight each other in the wild...
and this is where the confusion/blur begins
* I don't think it is particularly wrong to feed a rat to a snake (this is quite common)
* I don't think it is wrong for a cat to catch and eat mice
* I don't think it is wrong for a wild snake to eat a cat
Is it wrong to "feed a cat" to a particularly big snake?
Perhaps it is just wrong to watch it.
Very confused by this. Also a bit drunk
most people with pythons feed them Rats And/or mice.
Mice and Rats are actually a very common and increasingly popular pet.
Therefore, what people are saying is it's absolutely criminal to feed the Python one kind of pet (i.e., a kitten), but it's perfectly okay to feed the Python another kind of pet (the IEA rats).
Rats and mice haven't have had their brains and hormones (tame animals have less testoerone) changed by humans yet. They do not bond with humans the way cats and dogs do. Also, cats and dogs have difficulty surviving without our assistance in feeding them due to our interference with them. When rats and mice reach the same state then it will be unethical to feed them to snakes to.
I personally think it's unethical to have snakes as pets, especially a large dangerous one like a python.

Exactly. That was a f***ing massive snake.
Seems equally cruel to feed it 100 mice per day. I'd bet that thing could eat a small lamb or pig.
Would that be wrong to feed it a sheep or pig? Probably not, so it is probably okay to feed it a cat or a dog or so the logic would go.
I was great. You loved it.

I know a lady with 4 pet rats. After about a 20 min. conversation with her, she will totally blow your mind about what these animals are capable of, how intelligent they are, and how totally in tune with her They are

It's not about intelligence; it's about domestication and how we changed them from their wild natural state and then bonded with them. It's abusive to do such a thing to a creature.
I'm done here because you are a troll and an asshole.
I have better things to do than talk to a sick jerk like you.
