If you think that this country would be exactly the same, under a full 100% control by one party, as it is now, perhaps you are delusional. There would be no minority control to stop things like Medicare or Social Security being dismantled, and the left would advocate these things, being mimics of the right. No minimum wage, no EPA, no clean water act, no civil rights, no overtime laws, no child labor laws, no vacations, no breaks. Everything the Republicans want, they get it. EVERYTHING the oligarchy wants, let us give it to them.

They had a supermajority under W, not sure when it started, but it ended in 2006.(maybe 2004 actually)

They could have done all those aweful things they say they want to do, but that's not really what they want to do.

THey didn't ban abortion, mandate prayer in school, deregulate everything, poison everything.

They know very well that if they do that it won't last.

unless you can change the Apathy in this country, nothing is going to change. People are so apathetic is appalling, they no longer care about anyone other than themselves. This country used to be quite a bit different than it is now. Personally I blame the public education system, which allowed bullies to dominate classrooms with no regard for what they were doing to others. You get the people who care about nobody and will stand on anybody's back to get what they want. And the people who are so beaten down by those bullies, that they no longer care. So either way, you get 2 types of people who don't care.

If you've been to school and weren't a bully, or bullied by someone, then perhaps you have escaped this, but I doubt it. Bullies are still allowed in school to terrorize victims, they are not dealt with harshly enough.
