RE: I just don't get the whole "Invest in Gold" thing.
Thankfully I bought most of my gold coins and bullion, when it was trading at around $280 an oz. I had a chunk of change I needed to invest, but hate the markets, and funds, so I bought some gold.

Trouble is I have personal possesion of it. Since I bought at 280, and it is now worth 1600, it is scary to posses it. I do not have it at my residence, but none the less I pay through the ass to have it secured.

I agree with Vegas. Today silver is the better deal. I like investing in coins, rather than raw silver or bullion. Heh, but since my wages have dropped 200% since 2006, it is not very often that I can buy an oz. of silver.
