You can never go home. Hugs But maybe you will find a place where you can feel comfortable again?

I watched a documentary about a Russian man who the down-and-out people would come to, something like a rescue mission. Now I know that the west tends to slant the view on Russia in a negative way but these people were the saddest, most lost and hopeless people I'd ever seen. This guy was pompous and arrogant, ruled with an iron-fist and you could see he loved his little empire he'd built.

I've seen quite a few of down and out Americans, too, and oddly enough I never saw any as depressed and rudderless as these dissaffected Russian people were.

At least when we're down and out we still have a fighting, independant and 'can-do' spirit without the need for heavy-handed oversight.

I seriously doubt this poster is Russian or ever lived there.

OP if you seriously are Russian, consider writing in Russian and having a translator put it in English for you, because from all your other posts, your English could use some work.

Even just once I'd like to see that, and a comparison of what you call the English Language.

Not bashing you, I am doubting you.

Another of that USSR song right from Red Square. Just Paul. No dancing by Putin with a Russian bear? Tho I think he really was there dancing to one of Paul's song.

Sorry thing is the USSR was better for those of the 10's of thousands of those pretty girls who found themselves sold off to whore houses around the world after their county was "freed".

I'm gonna give USSR the benefit of the doubt and believe they don't teach English too well in Russia.

RE: I remember the Soviet Union... I want to return.
I have a number of Russian friends who have all confided in me at different times that they preferred life under Communism. Even though they were poor, they were happy. There was a collective spirit and a camaraderie that is missing now.

Now in Russia it is dog-eat-dog and life is actually tougher than before. This is what I've heard.

There's an old gag: Under Communism everyone was equal...equally poor.

But one thing Westerners don't understand....money isn't everything in life.

Your avatar with the Soviet Jesus is hilarious.

Deus lumen cordis mei
et panis orisintus animae meae
et virtus maritans mentem meam
et sinum cogitationis meae ?
Non te amabam,
et fornicabar abs te,
et fornicanti sonabat undique :
''euge, euge''.

RE: I remember the Soviet Union... I want to return.
I have many friends from Ukraine that tell me the same thing all the time. That life was better with the USSR, I am not just talking old people, I mean young people as well. People that were just old enough to remember how it was.

It probably could have lasted if they hadn't spent half their budget on their military. Which should be a warning to another country which now considers itself a superpower and spends more than half it's budget on it's military.
