Ron Paul gave a speech last night on the UCSD campus in La Jolla. It was very exciting! There were THOUSANDS of people there - a LOT of young people, but also plenty of older folks as well.

He spoke outside on the mall between the buildings at a little podium set up on a tiny stage, and we were all packed in like sardines, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, to listen to him.

I was very close to the podium and it is amazing to note that he speaks completely extemporaneously with no notes and certainly no teleprompter (take THAT, Obama!).

The crowd was fired up and would boo when he talked about the way the govt. abuses its powers, and would cheer and chant "President Paul!" when he would talk about the contsitutional remedies.

I watched the news last night to see if they would report on his speech and NONE of the network channels reported it.

However, our two syndicated stations did report on it: KUSI 9 only briefly, but Channel 6 did a really good report:

Fun, isn't it? We went to the one at UT Austin about a week ago, and we're going to the one at the State Capitol tomorrow night. The best part was talking to the other people in the crowd and being around a whole bunch of aware people who had not given up hope. Good times!

Did you see any good signs at your rally? There was someone here with a "Raw Milk" sign. :) I'm trying to think of sign ideas for tomorrow.

Actually, the funniest sign I saw was a hand-painted one being held up by a brave soul that said "Romney 4 Prez".

Glad you had a good experience. But why bash Obama for using a teleprompter when Bush, Mitt, Rick and Newt all used one too. If you are going to open your eyes open them completely.
