I've never owned one as a pet. The Kitten got so startled because it
was trying to stare down the other lizard and wasn't expecting anything
from behind.

That lynx is beautiful, I just don't like to think of the cage it is living in. The chain-link fence in the background says a lot. :-(

Lizards do hibernate in temperate and cold climates. Being cold-blooded, they cannot even move when cold. They're sturdy stuff, though. A fence lizard somehow made it into my laundry basket in my garage once. (oh the joys of living in the country) and the little trooper made it alive through a complete wash cycle. He was shiny-clean!

Here's one of my tame lizards I had BC (before cats!) They're mostly gone now. Tissue

That's why I'd never own one as a pet. They need to be in the wild
where they belong.
