I've never owned one as a pet. The Kitten got so startled because it
was trying to stare down the other lizard and wasn't expecting anything
from behind.

That lynx is beautiful, I just don't like to think of the cage it is living in. The chain-link fence in the background says a lot. :-(

Lizards do hibernate in temperate and cold climates. Being cold-blooded, they cannot even move when cold. They're sturdy stuff, though. A fence lizard somehow made it into my laundry basket in my garage once. (oh the joys of living in the country) and the little trooper made it alive through a complete wash cycle. He was shiny-clean!

Here's one of my tame lizards I had BC (before cats!) They're mostly gone now. Tissue

That's why I'd never own one as a pet. They need to be in the wild
where they belong.

northerntomcat- what a beauty your 'friend up the road' is! and what a great pic!
We have lynx up in our woods- next door neighbour managed to capture a photo but from a distance- I have yet to catch sight of him... he's so well camouflaged, and so very cautious... I have seen his tracks in the snow on occasion, but that's it. Awesome.

Dr.Postman! I laughed 'til I cried... the cat and iguanas (?). You always post the greatest (and funniest) stuff. Thanks for the much needed lift... and keep 'em coming:)).
