Thats why the IMF stopped using it as its poster child country of 'success' post 2008. The IMFs solution to the debt burden left was to have the population of iceland pick up the debt and pay back, like a mortgage.

They got a new gov and refused to pay back the international investment, as it was the fault of the bankers.

All countries in europe should do that, as we all know the major players/criminals, are relatively few and far between. But that won't happen.

I am glad iceland did tho, they set some kind of precendence.

Imagine not having to pay back your mortgage.. that would be amazing.

The really INSANE part is most of these debts are indeed a CIRCLE JERK of DEBT.

France owes Germany, Germany owes England, England owes France, England owes Germany, Germany owes France, etc, etc.

If you just let these circle jerk debts cancel each other out, you'd have progress.

The Federal Reserve BOUGHT 61% of US treasuries last year. REPUDIATE THAT DEBT!

I'm amazed how long they've been able to keep floating this debt bubble.

What's next? Turn Forvik into a bad bank?

They could do that. Just have the Sovereign State of Forvik open a central bank and buy up all the toxic debt.

This should have been done in the US instead of giving all that money to the bankers.
The only thing a US banker will do for home owners is to offer refinancing, but at a 2.5k cost to do so. Bankers suck hard!

You're right! We should just give the money to the banks without paying off the mortgages. Otherwise you'd be the only sucker who thought the bank actually loaned you money they actually had! Then paid them double or triple of the entire amount, not just the 9% they actually loaned you.

Nothing else would be fair.

Don't start believing the lies they tell you, scarcity of resources is an artificial reality (scam) used to drive market demand and nothing else. That is what makes these bankers the worst criminals in history TBH.

The fact that not only do they make up money that they profit from, but the fact that there is infinite abundance that is purposely suppressed to ensure that somebody will feel it is worth it to pay for things. Money is just a tool so I won't blame the money itself, but finances and economics are the biggest hokiest scams ever used to control humanity. It's an even worse sham than religion.

Why not give the responsible folks an incentive, too? Maybe waive property taxes, or provide them something... anything. I'm not rooting for bankers, I think you know that.
