The romanticised picture of native american life is largely a cultural subversion propaganda operation - to convince generations of stupid white kids that their culture is basically evil and should be destroyed.

There would be no nuclear plants, no pollution, no money, no chemically treated water, no police, no bureaucratic laws, no prisons, no drugs (aside from the natural ones), no jobs, no taxes, no elderly people scared of death, no gangs, children respected their parents, religion was a respect of nature and balance.....

But we had to make way for "progress", right....

Think more about the blood thirsty Inca, Maya, and Aztec.

Your glamorized portrayal was once true in Europe too, the Celts, the Picts, and those who came before but for which we know little about culturally, were similar in many ways.

And even some tribes of the Americas, that were far from being empires, were not nice neighbors at all to other more peaceful tribes.
