Welll, I suppose ... no real argument here.
BUT! What if my destiny were to steal a star ship and go for a joy ride?

I need guarantees and evidence that the new experience would be better, then I'd take it.
Just like moving from a screwed up dangerous city to a better one.

Kill the Matrix Wrote:Man, I would never lay that type of guilt trip on someone in pain. I know of several people who have very debilitating sorts of physical issues that I would not tell them they had to be an example for others.
I know of someone who gets cluster migraines. If you've ever had a migraine, you know these are unbelievably horrible and sick headaches. Cluster migraines come in waves, sometimes every day for weeks at a time. I know someone that has had those for over 40 years. Recently, they confided in me that they wanted to die because trying to life with headaches was really no life at all, it was merely enduring. They felt like they came here with a job to do, and were unable to do it because of their headaches had them bedridden for much of the time. It was wearing on them.
I can't say I would tell them they should continue to endure that for another 40 years. I've had migraines, I don't think I'd put up with that for even a few years.
I agree that intense physical pain is one reason people decide to end it. I had a friend (pot activist, Steve McWilliams) who committed suicide using his govt approved/supplied painkillers when he was denied his "medicine" (cannabis) for his migraines for over a year. He had to inject some kind of horrible medicine for his migraines and also the medicine evidently destroys the heart/circulatory system so he was a walking time bomb, getting migraines more and more often (I believe he told me he sometimes had to inject that stuff six times a day).

I would not have wanted to go on like that either, especially facing prison time. I felt bad that I forgot to call him on his birthday, but in retrospect, I would not have been able to say anything to help him and he probably just wanted to be left alone to write his suicide note. That you work with people who call suicide hotlines, shows you are a compassionate person. Just hang in there, you'll find out what you're supposed to be doing, and then you will do it... if you already had done it, you would probably have left by now....

I know you can't leave. Even before Diana wrote that, I know you can't check out, that we all have a job to do and there is a reason we're here. I am just wondering how many people ever think about bailing.

I think there would be something wrong with you if you didn't ever think about checking out...

Yaarrr.... Sometimes me thinks I should return to Home Port when the seas get too rough. But to be in the middle of the storm and turn around and head to port is the same as just grabbin yer canon balls and riding it out. Except, if ye return to port, ye don't finish the journey. If you finish the journey, there be a reward awaitin me hearties when we get there! YAAARRR!!!

Some of us came here under contract. Most of us who did that know who we are, many already know why they are here and they job they must do. Some are here to do one specific act, at one time. Others are here for a lifetime of service. My question was posed to those folks, and they answered. Most are still hanging on, still willing to finish even though we're at the 11th hour.
There are groups of beings in the universe that want to liberate mankind. People who have transcended this realm agreed to come back here and be of service to humanity, to help at this most difficult time. The risk is great in that they may get sucked back into the cycle. Others have a tremendous dislike for humans and feel, on some level, that they are unworthy of saving. They came anyway.
Some humans were already here and either volunteered to help, or were offered an opportunity. These meetings take place on the astral realm.
There is also the very depressing understanding that many of the people alive today are not exactly human and do not have souls, yet walk among us like they are normal. The "good" people who are here to help do not disclose their affiliation so that the "bad" people do not know who is on what side. The good people use the confusion to their advantage.
This is why everything is turning to shit. The evil forces are turning on themselves in a desperate bid to hold on to this realm. They are losing. Before the end of the year, all the evil forces will be revealed.
