So did anyone get rich off this SCAM yet?chuckle

okay since you exhibit retarded tendencies, I'll spell it out real slow for you. It's a long term investment...investment and while it might not RV to the Kuwait 3:1 I still bought it at .000013 to the dollar (it can only go up) so for this 20 something year old who's trying to start a financial portfolio, I'm pretty happy with the transaction.

Quote:Notice in this article "Billions over Baghdad" written by former UST Undersecretary John B. Taylor, that he said Iraqi oil coming to the U.S. to pay for the war will be less than $33 per barrel coming to the USA. A couple of sentences later he says "one barrel of oil will cost the US roughly 6 dinar held by the UST." Well there we have the UST's desired RV rate. The UST wants a little less than $5.50 USD per dinar on the RV! ($33 USD oil divided by 6 dinar = $5.50 USD per dinar).

Perhaps the recent rumors of vouchers coming in at a rate of $5.25 aren't too far fetched. And recent rumors over the last 1-2 months of delays in the RV because the UST wanted a higher rate than $3.00 are maybe not so far fetched either. With news of the rumored vouchers at $5.25, maybe the UST has been able to get the rate they always wanted to pay for the war. If the UST owns 3-5 trillion dinar, then that will convert to about $15.75-$27.5 trillion USD. The cost of the Iraq war is estimated at about $3 trillion USD. Looks like the UST will more than pay for the war with their dinar holdings as President Bush promised.

As of May 6, 2011, the total US public debt is about $14.32 trillion USD. Looks like the UST could pay off all the US debt, but do you really think they will do that with the money? Of course not. Those politicians love to spend, spend spend.

I hope the rest of us get this same rate. AWESOME!!!

But I wouldn't be surprised is the UST got some special deal just for the military and the UST.

Here's that portion of the article:

The article below, "Billions over Baghdad," written by John B. Taylor, under secretary of the Treasury from 2001 to 2005, and the author of “Global Financial Warriors,” is a concise explanation of the beginnings of the plan to devalue, print a new dinar currency, then revalue (RV) the Iraqi dinar. It was first conceived by Cheney & Greenspan, et al, and then put into action before the first shot was ever fired in the Iraqi War. It also gives credibility to GW Bush when he expressed many times as to how this war would pay for itself, namely OIL. Iraqi oil at less than $33/barrel coming to the USA.

The 3-5 trillion Iraqi dinar currently held by the US treasury will be returned to Iraq beginning 6 months from now in exchange for oil at the lower price. This, in part, is how Iraq will finance this revaluation. One barrel of oil will cost the US roughly 6 dinar currently held by the US Treasury.

Thanks for the bump!

It's all cool, investing in central banks in a global economic collapse will probably be a great long term investment, What ever you do, don't ever invest in these "gold is real money" schemes, gold has never gone to zero, so it's probably just about due.

BTW you might want to look into derivatives and Treasury Notes, nobody wants them right now, so they will be cheaper for a long term investor such as yourself. Also if anyone tries to tell you Fridays unemployment report was a disaster.....run the other way, they are fear-mongers.

All I know is that a few years ago your could only buy 1400 Dinars for a dollar, but now you can buy only 1200 for a dollar. I guess that means it went up in value.

The Iraqi government does have huge problems with corruption, but I'm pretty sure in the long run the oil industry will get back to pre-war levels. I think if you stick with it in the long term you will be pleased with your investment.

That does play a major factor. We'll see what happens. I lose $40 bucks or I make a million.

I'm no expert but couldn't that also mean the dollar went down in value?

I like Dinar as a long term thing... and sooner rather than later for a possibly respectable increase. Certainly wouldn't bet the farm on it, but do hold a small position myself.

Strategos, when US invaded Iraq, the (2003/4) newly issued currency (replacing the currency with Saddam's picture) fell to about 4000 dinar to the usd. Quite recently the news coming out of Iraq is showing indications that the current value of 1170 dinar - 1 usd, will have to be changed... how much is anyone's guess at this point though. Shabibi has repeatedly called for "lifting the zeros" and removing the larger bills from circulation.

There are arguments all over the net about what this means. My take and reasoning is: at $0.00086 current value, the plan would probably be an initial revalue at $0.86 IQD to $1 USD, pull the larger denominations out of circulation and issue the lower denominations, which will then be necessary for daily transactions at that point. The reason I think this is what will happen is primarily due to some of the news and comments made in the last couple of months. There is a huge campaign to bring investors into Iraq... BP & Shell have been elbowing each other to get in the door, China's cut some deals and all kinds of businesses are rushing to claim their stake in the expected economic boom. Iraq is rich in resources as well. This all adds up to real potential for a substantial increase in currency value, imho.

The translation at the link below is a bit garbled, but it's pretty clear that the Iraqi gov. want people there to start using the lower denoms and they are going to put even lower ones, including the 25 dinar coins, back into circulation. To me, this means they will Have to "lift" some zeros, otherwise people would have to carry around wheelbarrow loads of cash to do average grocery shopping even.

Leela, I'm with you on this, but I'm not getting over excited just yet. There are potential issues due to so much corruption within Iraq itself, the ability to cash in physical holdings locally and who knows what else at this point. Like I noted above, I sure wouldn't run out and over-extend myself on a gamble... and it is more 'speculation' than anything else for now.

As for buying Dinar... Maaaannn, I don't know! All those pumpers look pretty shady to me, but some of them are registered with the US Treasury to deal in physical currency. You won't find it traded on Forex yet, but some larger banks do still handle it via special order, as do currency exchange booths in some major airports.

All that said, Hellz yeah!
Go RV!

There's a huge thread about this (like 300 pages long) on GLP, but most of us are banned from there now. Just listen in to the broadcasts on thecallsquad.com if you want some real info on this. They back up everything they say with documentation.

RE: Iraqi Dinar getting ready to RV!!!!!!!
Lots of rumors in the last few weeks about a revaluation of the Dinar.
This rumor mill has been busy for years, but lately official meetings are occuring and there may finally be action.
Two weeks ago there was talk of dropping 3 zeroes from the notes.
This week is a revaluation to 4.41.
Not positive if its just hype and hysteria, or something is going to happen.
