It was sad when the great ship went down
Husbands and wives, little children lost their lives, it was sad when the great ship went down.

Hope the link works. If someone could embed it, that'd be swell. Heartflowers

I was also thinking of the Titanic tonight. They would have been about 45 minutes into it now.

So glad to see this posted here.

I can't believe no one else chimed in on this 100th anniversary of the Titianic going down.....wow.

There's about and hour and a half until she sinks into the great deep.

vv

PS - in the new issue of Vanity Fair if anyone is interested there is an in-depth report of what occurred on the Costa Concordia. Interviews with passengers and Italian coast Guard and a crew member or two.

The Captain f*cked up and froze.

Had they been not along a coastline of a country it would have been another Titanic tragedy.

RE: It was sad when the great ship went down
They were murdered !

The Titanic did not sink , its sister ship the Olympic was sunk after having its name changed to the Titanic shortly before . The Olympic was badly damaged in an accident with the HMS Wolfe , it was patched up , its nameplate changed and sunk on purpose to collect the 12.5 million pounds insurance ! The two ships were nearly identical and no one was the wiser . The REAL Titanic was used for another 25 years , re badged as the Olympic !

A hundred years ago almost to the hour now. I was fascinated with Titanic when I was a kid. Learned this song in boy scouts. Couldn't imagine what it was like to be in the cold and dark on a sinking ship in the North Atlantic with no help in sight and all the lifeboats gone. Brrrrr.

All rivers return to the sea.

mmmkay.

To the best of my knowledge the Olympic was its sister ship piloted earlier by the Titanic's captain, and he did have an accident with it. That is not cool that they rehired him but your post reeks of disinfo.

I know right I just stepped away and said a prayer for all of them. I'm a woman and remember that similar song from when I was a little kid. Not from my parents, must have been in school....don't remember....but I do now. it all comes back.
