Maybe Isaac will change that situation...

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

the problem is that massive rains and flooding are just going to strip and erode vulnerable, drought-ridden topsoil and general infrastructure. sinkholes. instability and crustal displacement. FRACKING. many problems compounded.

thanks for current info. :)

Trust me, it won't be a good thing. We have a terrible drought here in Arkansas. We're all talking about Isaac, that it might head more west and remnants would hit us. Unfortunately, when AR gets hurricane remnants, that means massive flooding and tornadoes. It would be a bad situation. Yes, we need rain, but we don't need tragedy.

Yes, same areas. I went to Vicksburg, Mississippi, last year and there was all sorts of sandbagging and attempts to save the casinos. The outlet mall in Tunica had a lot of water damage.

This year, you can see new islands and such. Crazy to observe. doomed

RE: JUST IN: 11-mile stretch of Mississippi River closed
This isnt "just in". It's been happening for weeks now. I posted
about it over a month ago:
http://lunaticoutpost.com/Topic-Mississi...un-aground

While this has happened before it's still very unusual. What makes this
all the more unusual is the near record floods just one year ago. It's
extremes like this happening so close together that is attention grabbing.

BTW, The Mississippi isn't a "tidal" river, especially this far upriver.
