Jury finds Va. Tech negligent in '07 shootings
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) — A jury found Virginia Tech negligent on Wednesday for waiting to warn students about a gunman during a 2007 campus massacre that left 33 dead.

Jurors deliberated for 3 ½ hours before siding with the parents of two students who were killed on April 16, 2007, in the most deadly mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Their wrongful death civil lawsuit argued that lives could have been spared if school officials had moved more quickly to alert the campus after the first two victims were shot in a dorm. The massacre ended later in the morning with the deaths 31 more people, including the gunman, at a classroom building.

Not acceptable, but how can we ever identify these people before they go off?

We can't.

History proves that...

They were most likely in the wrong because they didn't have the resources to do what they needed to do to stop the gunman. Despite all the security we think we have, there is no security against a lone gunman.

Has always been that way.

Can't find a smiley.

Canadian's class hardest hit

http://www.thestar.com/News/article/204866

BLACKSBURG, Va.–The horror of the last moments of Jocelyne Couture-Nowak's life in her second-floor French classroom has come into grim focus. It now appears the Canadian woman, whom adoring students called "Madame," presided over the bloodiest room of Cho Seung-Hui's brutal rampage, the room where the mass murderer ended his own life. Couture-Nowak appears in her final moment to have tried to save students in the room, after looking the killer in the eye in the hallway. The Montreal native and at least 10 of her students perished. Two others are in hospital. One of the only two or three students believed to have survived told his family Couture-Nowak ordered her students to the back of the class for their safety before making a futile attempt to barricade the door.
