Another shot from different angle.
Despite their fierce looks these creatures are very placid
I had this one feeding out of my hand.

Awesome!
Can you tell people how you cultivate crystals?

It ties into my vibrational physics thread, we have talked about how this happens and the vibrations involved and the shapes produced by waves.

Platonic solids some people say.
My buddy was the son of a crystal freak and we would discuss the properties and shapes into the small hours.

Nice pics!

Hi GD
Best to start with safe ingredients ie, salt, sugar, etc,
As an example Copper sulphate is a fun crystal, its a chemical found in garden shops, usually in a blue powder form, this is dissolved in hot water, as the water cools crystals start forming, over a period of several weeks they can increase in size considerably, sort out the best looking crystal to grow, by removing others out of the solution so that maximum growth can concentrate in just that one you have selected.

Crystals are amazing, GD if you and MD make it up to the North Island sometime, there,s a rock shop in Ngatea that,s well worth checking out, its considered the biggest rock, and mineral collection in the southern hemisphere, you can purchase thunder eggs small to very large and have them cut open by diamond saw before you leave, its a fantastic sight requiring several hours to see properly.

I have seen these cut open rocks before. They are amazing.

If you go there, you should budget some money to buy one to bring home--if it pleases you. Because they are incredibly interesting & beautiful.
