i think the thing that crashed in Roswell was a time machine and whatever powered it, was almost depleted so once they used it and figured out that it would make you time travel, they tried it and it took them back to 1800 something where their zeppelin crashed in the desert into that old dudes windmill. so they took what was left to form projects like Pegasus and several other projects. when they started to run out they built the large hadron collider to make more.

then they realized all these jumps they have made has caused several tears in the fabric of time hence all the sky noises we have been hearing. so they started work on the Los Alamos Magnetic field to somehow patch the rips in our world. well just like we have SETI to tell us if there is a communique from space other life beings have kinda the same thing and when that rip occurred in 1947 they came to examine it and started going through it hence the "UFO's" .

now we have more of the "stuff" to power the time machine but our fabric is ripping in several places and unless the Los Alamos Magnetic field can patch it we are doomed as f*ck.........
