The US military has been using these for temporary billeting for years. They call them CLUs, Containerized Living Units. In recent years private sector architects have put a whole new spin on the humble CLU.

yeah... they're about the size of a studio. That would be a good use for older ones and homeless.

Yeah, I was thinking homeless too but some of the models displayed in the vid appear to be on the higher end of the socio-economic scale. In either case, they seem to be a versatile alternative to conventional construction methods!

I've always wondered why theses containers weren't used to rebuild Haiti. They are earthquake proof and hurricane proof, but the majority of container housing are being built in Australia and the UK.
