Lawns are one of the most intensive and time consuming areas of maintenance in a garden, but the rewards of a well kept lawn are great. Mowing the lawn, while a tedious and often annoying chore, has advantage such as the pride of maintaining the look of the grounds of one's home. There is also the belief that it will keep one from getting a “no mowing” fine from their town of residence. Thus, Homeowners should avoid not mowing the lawn fines.

czygyny  Wrote:
Don't buy a house in an area that you have these sort of rules to keep, if you want to be lazy and not keep up your property.

I'm serious.

Many people take a lot of pride in their homes and nothing irritates them more than a slovenly/noisy/inconsiderate neighbor, not to mention it drags down their property values.

Buy a house in an unrestricted subdivision. Live amongst the others who hold the same values as you do and you'll all be happy.

Of course it is ridiculous to jail someone over an unkempt lawn or overflowing trash (until it gets to be a health hazard!) but homeowners in communities like this usually have to agree to the rules before they're accepted into the fold.

Believe it or not, community means consideration for others.

So then. I must have consideration for their values and their preferences but they refuse to have to same consideration for mine? That's nonsense.

Everyone is a hypocrite.

I hate laws, but for hecks sake. It is not that hard to mow the weeds. And pick up around the house. If ya want to live like a pig, move to a secluded place.

But a law putting people into jail. That is bullshit. These asshole officials have not seen real pitch forks. They need to. And soon.
