Went out to check for any damage after last nights storm, and lookie what I found!

There were 2 of them, if you look on the right edge of the picture in between two sheets of grass, there looks like a grey lump, that was a 3rd. I didn't notice it right away and when I did, I thought it was dead, it was laying in a puddle of water not moving.

The storm knocked the 3 baby red shouldered hawks out of their nest!

Spent the morning trying to call the wildlife center, and a couple of rehabilitators that wouldn't return my call or their numbers were no good.

Finally got a hold of one. She told me to tie a laundry basket into the tree, and put the babies back inside, then watch and see if momma and daddy hawk come back to take care of them.
She said if the parents think they are a lost cause they won't bother feeding them anymore. If they are injured or even get bugs on them from the ground.

She said they can go a day without eating so to watch and see if the parents will feed them.

When I was out installing the laundry basket I noticed the dead baby and went to pick it up and it was alive! Barely! Called her back! Placed him in another laundry basket with towels and rice filled sock warmed up the microwave. He wasn't doing well, just breathing is all.

Real sweet lady offered to meet me 1/2 way so I could deliver him to her. He looked a little better in the car ride after I warmed him up. His eyes opened and he squeaked and tried to sit up a little but couldn't.
