I will never understand how anyone can blow millions of dollars with in few years when you can easily make it last your entire life.

This goes for sports stars too.....

There's a story behind every person.
There's a reason why they're the way they are.
They aren't just like that because they want to.
Something in the past created them.
And sometimes it's impossible to fix them.

Candle RIP Karen and Galaxy.

There are a lot of leeches in the world. Trust me!

Most of these lotto winners try to be the good guy and help their friends and families then realize that they're not either (in the traditional sense)...or they date a gold-digger.

Hate to break it to people but it's very hard to spend all that money going from pinching pennies to being a high millionaire. The only way you spend it is by giving it away to greedy people you know (or gambling).

RE: Lotto Winner Horror Stories
If the person was pretty poor to start with, the explanation is actually pretty simple.

Poor people are used to having no extra money. They pay the bills, they buy the necessities, and they're broke. They don't get extra frills and thrills often.

On those occasions when they DO get extra money...say tax returns or some such...their mentality is, "If I try to save it, it will eventually be drained away into the bills and necessities. I should buy myself something nice NOW while I have it."

After a life of this mentality, they suddenly get a lottery windfall and can't turn off that "must get what I want NOW before it drains away" idea, and just keep spending until they've reached their status quo...living paycheck to paycheck once again.

RE: Lotto Winner Horror Stories
I've heard about all of the "shady" characters that come out of the woodwork and stalk winners. So called 'churches'' and 'charities' whose sole mission in life is to go from winner to winner demanding money and the same for lawyers. Top it off with people who suddenly show up claiming to be a long lost relative.

Under the heat of an alien sun .....
