I wouldn't think 'good works,' so much as 'hard knocks;' sublimation and purification seem to be the key, both of these were evidenced in the life and works of the Christ. Personally, I believe that the very few who may succeed at such an endeavor may not even be aware of the process that is begun until it has been ongoing, and results are produced naturally. Otherwise, only a golem-like creature can be produced, which has no real efficacy nor truth of existence.

And as far as magic is concerned, I think that people are mostly deluded into believing that there is a 'white' magic and a 'black' magic... magic is magic... and it is the intent of the practitioner only that provides a perceived seperation of the two; there is none. It is said that Solomon was a great sorceror/magician... black or white? Was he/it 'good' or 'bad?' The answer will depend, of course, on your own perception of the man and the results that were achieved. To build a temple for 'God'... good; to enlist the aid of a demon to do so... bad. Yes?

So, do you believe that Christ was resurrected bodily and transcended into the Heavens? How do you propose that it was accomplished, if so? If not by a process of sublimation and refinement that covered a course of about thirty-three years, that is?

I am not at all trying to be argumentative in my response, but I would be most curious as to your reply...

I do not believe in an eternal soul. So yes, I believe Christ physically raised from the dead. It was accomplished by what you could term a divine rite played out through his life. Basically, death did not have legal jurisdiction over his body.

I do not believe it was a 33-year process. I believe he was convicted of 'his calling' at age 30 and then proceeded into the wilderness to attain 'proofs' of his calling, it was there that he defeated 'the Devil' which was basically his own desire for self-importance (ego). He defeated the Devil by NOT proving who he was to himself/the Devil. Only when he came to his half-brother John the Baptist did God show a sign (which was meant as a confirmation to both of them). I also believe that he was was conceived of a virgin as prophesied and thus was not affected by 'generational sin' (which would subject him to death automatically), today we would call them psychological dispositions inherent in the DNA from our parents. I do not believe one can save themselves, the One Man who defeated death has the ability to raise those whom he desires...

Egregore is very fitting, i'm quite familiar with it--I just figured most people here would be more aware of the 'golem' or 'frankenstein's monster'...
