Monster Energy Drink a Killer?

The family of a 14-year-old Maryland girl who died of cardiac arrest after drinking two cans of Monster Energy, is suing the company.

Each 0.7 liter can of Monster Energy contains 480 milligrams of caffeine, or the equivalent of 14 cans of Coca-Cola.

Unlike for sodas, there are no laws regulating how much caffeine can go into energy drinks.

RE: MONSTER ENERGY DRINK A KILLER?
Although I'm all for personal responsibility, I'm also thinking perhaps these energy drinks should not be so openly available. Besides the caffeine overdose it has a huge amount of sugar in it. The body ofcoarse has to regulate that high concentration in a little amount of time. Something kids just don't think about..

I do have a few energy drinks now and then but purely because i know i need to be hyperactive for a few hours just to get my work done.

Just as I thought, underlying condition. Already a problem with heart valves, then you shouldn't even think of touching anything with caffeine in it. But ofcoarse how could she know?

Simple solution: Put heavy caffeinated drinks in bottle stores but not in supermarkets. Only fair right?

Plus on the back of a can it says: Consume responsibly, limit to 3 cans per day.

I had to look in our store.Jhikpghf

I used to think http://translate.google.com/translate?hl...CCAQ7gEwAA this was a bad chemical, but currently can't find out why I thought that.

Actually, if these are dietary supplements, they should not be marketing it like it's a casual soft drink like Pepsi.

It should not be sold by corner stores. Just like how they banned fortified beer and wine from the corner stores here. They also made it so you can't buy single cans of beer in corner stores. Making it harder for poor drunk bastards to afford their daily fix, hoping to curb alcoholism. Yes. I live in a Liberal state, unfortunately.
