Why didn't she leave WAY BEFORE THE STORM BROKE????
Many many people don't leave in these types of storms for many many reasons, and they will also be people that won't and there will always be unnecessary deaths. Two people in my own town died in Ike.
We can accept this and save a life if we so desire, especially an innocent life, or we can say, "Shame on you, you deserve to die". It's our choice.
I just hope if it's one of your family members that needs help one day, someone chooses to save them.
I am NOT my brother's keeper. If I were, this ol world would be lookin' a whole lot different, and I would have MADE that stupid foolish woman with two small children leave long before they would have suffered this tragedy.

The OP's video said that the man refused to take in her and her two children in, then the boys were swept away off of his back porch. Making him look responsible for their deaths.
Wonder which story is true. It does make a HUGE difference.
She pulled her two boys from the SUV and held onto a tree for several hours, then she mananged to climb up an embankment with them to the homeowners front door and ask for help. He declined helping her so she carried the boys to the backyard where she tried to throw a planter into his back door to get shelter for the boys and this is when the waves carried them off.
The homeowner claims it was a man that was throwing the planter into his door asking for help.
That's what the story in the OP's video said. The link BL posted made it sound like the boys were swept away after she unbuckled them from their car seats. Before she made it to the man's house.

But you are your brothers keeper if you make the decisions for people as to what they are to do.

If he had nothing to hide and a hurricane just devastated the neighborhood. The power is out and there is no running water wouldnt you complain to the media.Instead he hid in his house peeking out the window. Then he started yelling at the camera to stop filming his house why?Either this story is a hoax or that man is lying.

THAT'S MY POINT HONEY. I DON'T MAKE THOSE DECISIONS. THEY DO. SHE DID. AND NOW SHE DOESN'T WANT TO ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES OF THOSE CHOICES/ACTIONS. IT WAS HER CHOICE. HERS ALONE.

RE: Man Refused Help to Mother of Two Kids Who Eventually Die in Hurricane Sandy
Quote:Glenda Moore was heading to drop off her boys, Brandon, 2 and Connor, 4, at a relative’s house before her nursing shift on Monday. A sudden surge of water sent wave upon wave of flood water pounding their SUV in the middle of a Staten Island street, tossing the vehicle into a nearby marshy area.
The terrified mom managed to free both boys from their car seats, even as the water flipped their vehicle on its side, the sister said. But mom Glenda Moore, a powerful swimmer, lost her desperate struggle with Mother Nature.
“She was holding onto them, and the waves just kept coming and crashing and they were under,” the mother’s sister told the Daily News at her home. “It went over their heads … she had them in her arms, and a wave came and swept them out of her arms.”
About two dozen police officers were searching for the missing kids in a marshy section of Staten Island just off Capodanno Blvd. The mom was helping to lead the hunt despite suffering hypothermia during a night spend outside during the worst of the storm.
According to the sister, a dripping-wet Moore banged on doors looking for help in the middle of the hurricane -- but couldn’t find anyone willing to help her.

If she did lose her boys before reaching the house, someone should be fired for reporting the bs story in the video.
That man is sorry as hell for not helping her either way, but he was not the only one to deny her help. He shouldn't be singled out like that. They should take a video of all the neighbors that couldn't be bothered to help the lady.
When I first watched the video I thought that the water must be very high to take them over the fence around his back door.

You don't have to yell, I'm right here. It's okay feeling the way you are feeling. Most people in fact feel the way you do. It's a normal coping method to blame the victim.
There is also a sense of control when you can "teach someone a lesson". It empowers you. It's normal as well.
It's just too bad that 2 young boys had to die to teach a young mother a lesson.

RE: Man Refused Help to Mother of Two Kids Who Eventually Die in Hurricane Sandy
I wonder if it's ever crossed this man's mind that right now he could be a national hero, instead of a man that had a chance to save 2 children and chose not to?

It would also help the man's case. He claimed there was no woman with children at his backdoor, only a man, and this man wanted him to go outside and help him. He said the man didn't want to come inside.
They asked him he could have mistaken the woman for a man and he said, "no." That's where it gets strange.

I have never supported the action of anonymous of publishing someone's dox or attacking their accounts, but honestly, I would have no problem with them 'outting' this excuse for a man and donating the contents of every account he has (every penny) to charity for victim's relief.
In the end each other is all we have.

RE: Man Refused Help to Mother of Two Kids Who Eventually Die in Hurricane Sandy
Just curious why the CNN report fails to match the written reports? I mean in the CNN video she was on the guys porch with a two year old and a 4 year old. It would take a complete ass not to let them in. But then when you read the articles posted in the the thread, they said she never made to any tree. She got them out of their car seats and they were then swept away from them by the waves, before she made it anywhere. In truth, if that is the way it happened, I doubt seriously anything any one could have done. Might just be best to reserve judgement, without the whole story. I would like to think most people would help if they could.
