RE: Marriage.. a short story ...Non-fiction.. by me.
I waited 6 years to get married.

Things were going well, bought a house, had dual income, nice bank accounts, lots of fun.

Upon getting married, two months later, spouse caught cheating.

With co-worker.

Complete 180 in relationship before I found out.

All went to shit 1 month after getting married.

Was talk of alimony, splitting house, owing bunches of money, etc etc etc.

Lawyer said since it was such a short marriage (one year at divorce time thanks to needing 6 months legal separation) we split with half of everyhting, what we came into it with.

Never getting married again, scams everywhere.

You bring good news -- about your not having ever had children. Ghod knows how they would've turned out, with a "man" (and I use the word advisedly) like you for a father.

Fighting ignorance -- one ignoramus at a time.

Not brainwashed little sacks of greed I would guess.

Those who refrain from having children are usually the best would be parents.

Think about the finest woman you have ever seen.

Somebody, somewhere is sick of her.

RE: Marriage.. a short story ...Non-fiction.. by me.
I was married 20 years and had two kids. There are some good things about being married. I have been divorced for 10 years and I think that my marriage had a lot to do with need and codependency. Even having kids is a way to fill a need. I am glad I have had the opportunity to look at both sides of the equation up close and personal. I cannot say that I am happier now. I am happy, but for the most part I was happy then, too. I know that I will never get married again. I have no more needs to fill that I cannot give to myself. Perhaps if I had known that while I was married, I might still be married. Who knows?
