The Illinois Department of Transportation is testing an emergency plan to shut off access into and out of downtown Chicago. The plan uses a network of highway security gates that are designed to shut down all traffic coming in and out of Chicago in the event of a terrorist attack.

The Illinois DOT is warning truckers that it’s best to avoid the city during the NATO Summit in Chicago May 20-21. There will be a number of driving restrictions and rolling street closures, and the Illinois DOT is testing highway barricades that will block access to all major highways in and out of Chicago.

I've always thought cities would be the new camps, especially going on the use of certain towns/cities over here like Douglas on the Isle of Man during WW1 and WW2..

The notion has cropped up in a few films, notably the Children of Men depicting Bexhill-on-Sea along the coast from me as a *cough* refugee camp.

Some towns/cities are easier to contain a population than others, and I wonder if this is the case here?

you know, I really try to stay away from doom dates and event predictions but this one makes my hair stand up. Imagine if you really needed to start WWIII? This would be the event and the time.

I remember last year there was this Kane West rap video that had all these neon signs flashing in the background. Someone did a u-tube stop action video showing how these signs pointed to a terrorist attack on Chicago. Does any body remember this and can u post it for me?

I've long stated the ONLY hope FEMA/Homeland Security has is to attempt to control ingress/egress from major metropolitan areas. They in no way shape or form have the manpower to control ALL of them, in fact I'd be surprised if they could control 10% of them. Look at Katrina...it makes sense they wanna test their shit at this time...

That said, if they go through with this...ummm...exercise this would be an excellent opportunity for scanner buffs to monitor their freqs and perhaps learn something on the way they conduct their widdle operations....
