Medical Marijuana Law Goes Into Effect
One of the most controversial laws to go into effect today is one legalizing medical marijuana.

Starting today, patients who are receiving medical treatment for a debilitating medical conditions set out in the law could qualify for a temporary registration certificate.

Among the debilitating conditions people can obtain medical marijuana for include cancer, glaucoma, AIDS or HIV, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, epilepsy, cachexia (emaciation often caused by cancer or cardiac diseases), wasting syndrome, Chrohn’s disease, posttraumatic stress disorder, and other medical conditions, treatments and diseases.

The first step is for your physician to initiate the registration process by logging into a Web site and certifying you.

After the physician electronically submits a valid certification, the patient can access the online system to complete the patient portion of the application.

If the physician certifies the need for a primary caregiver, the caregiver can log in after the patient, and complete the application.

What I don't understand is how the government has any say what a free man does in his own home to his own body.

Its none of their business.

They don't own us unless we agree to and abide by it.

Fucku1

Harm none,
Do as you will.

Yes but remember you will be charged a felony if you are a gun owner and found with medical marijuana on you.

LEAP - Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

These law enforcement professionals are on your side!

Let your local elected officials know about this organization.

"Who We Are

Founded on March 16, 2002, LEAP is made up of current and former members of the law enforcement and criminal justice communities who are speaking out about the failures of our existing drug policies. Those policies have failed, and continue to fail, to effectively address the problems of drug abuse, especially the problems of juvenile drug use, the problems of addiction, and the problems of crime caused by the existence of a criminal black market in drugs.

Although those who speak publicly for LEAP are people from the law enforcement and criminal justice communities, a large number of our supporting members do not have such experience. You don’t have to have law enforcement experience to join us.

By continuing to fight the so-called “War on Drugs,” the US government has worsened these problems of society instead of alleviating them. A system of regulation and control of these substances (by the government, replacing the current system of control by the black market) would be a less harmful, less costly, more ethical, and more effective public policy.

Please consider joining us and helping us to achieve our goals: 1) to educate the public, the media and policy makers about the failure of current policies, and 2) to restore the public’s respect for police, which has been greatly diminished by law enforcement’s involvement in enforcing drug prohibition."

Yep, be prepared for local gov't flip-flops on licensing and regulation. The feds will come in and stir up trouble and threaten them, and also dispensaries will have lots of robberies. Regulations on personal gardens will change yearly, prepare for law inforcement flyovers, fret about armed intruders and garden thieves, as if battling insects, rain and disease wasn't enough.

It is all so ridiculous.

Oh, but they do own us. By their own declaration and we didn't object.
For one, take a look at this.

When Prohibition was repealed, guess what?

About 13 states had already repealed Prohibition and others were in the process of doing so.

Look familiar?

Keep it up. The War on Drugs is a corrupt monstrosity and must be replaced with something better.
