Medicare faces an unfunded liability of $38.6 trillion, according to the Medicare Trustees report released Monday.

The unfunded liability is the amount that has been promised in benefits to people now alive that will not be funded by the tax revenue the system is expected to take in to pay for those benefits. (The Medicare Trustees calculate the unfunded liability for a period of 75 years into the future.)

well, the solution to that would definitely be a form of canadian health care system. No reason to fight it... this is a benefit to all citizens, and it is completely ridiculous for people to fight for choice since we don't have any choice anyhow. I mean, you can't be serious about their so called "choice".

Medicare needs to give an option to receive paperwork electronically. That would save billions and a forest or two. In a year I end up with a stack of paperwork 2-3 feet high from medicare and my medicare advantage plan.

We have so much medical knowledge at our fingertips or in libraries nowadays. I encourage people to learn about health and the medical sciences and trauma/medical first aid. We're going back to the wild west (or medieval) days, and professional medical care will be a thing of the past for most people.
