Social Security’s SURPLUS is not disappearing. While it is true that revenue income received by the Trust Funds has declined during the recession, the program’s financial health is still sound. In fact, as we stated earlier, the SURPLUS held by the Trust Funds is still growing, and is projected by the Social Security actuaries to reach a peak in 2020 of $3.1 TRILLION.

These SURPLUSES and the interest income they yield, along with continuing payroll taxes and other receipts to the Trust Funds, are sufficient to assure payment of all benefits THROUGH 2037. However, it is also true that, at least for the time being, Social Security’s Trust Funds are not able to loan money to the general government and will loan less in future years than was previously projected.

Has the Social Security Corporation filed for bankruptcy? I haven't read or heard that it has. We are being bamboozled by those sick-in-the-head Congressmen/women who are eye-balling that $2.6 TRILLION.

Cutting Seniors' SS payments, in effect, makes them pay a tax to fund welfare for the illegals. To hell with that noise!

Hey dumbass, all those surplusses are replaced with IOUs under the unifided budget. There isn't any actual money in the SS accounts, just IOUs from the USA government. Do you actually think we're going to pay back SS? Are you really that stupid that you can't figure out the demographics on this?

Medicare needs to give an option to receive paperwork electronically. That would save billions and a forest or two. In a year I end up with a stack of paperwork 2-3 feet high from medicare and my medicare advantage plan.

They don't take anywhere near enough out of our paychecks to pay for Social Security---they try to invest the money in other places but even that isn't enough to keep up.
