Looks like they use Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques too, but mostly it appears to be just a flat out pyramid scheme.

I don't think it is super big really, its nothing compared to other religions, there are probably even more Jewish people than Scientologists (guessing).

The reason why it can't get too big is because its EXPENSIVE as the video made clear.

It costs so much money, so most people simply can't afford to be in it or stay with it.

The people it preys on are TWO MAIN TYPES. Vulnerable people who are "searching" and are the types who get stuck in cults or aggressive organizational structures, and their children who are born into it. They specifically target somewhat wealthy people, or prefer wealthy people and actors more than people who are poor who they don't even really try to impress or talk to since they know they can't pay.

The kids who are born into it might be the ones who end up in the SEA ORG and other things where they are used as practical SLAVE LABOR according to this video (they are "volunteers" who believe they are saving the world and do tons of work for Scientology including "missions" and "covert operations" which the video didn't mention really).

I would say that it is indeed more insidious then other religions.

I think LRH was insane & a bit of a (don't mean this in a bad way) conspiracy theorist. I think the CIA took over when David Miscaviage became the leader. Leaked documents show him as a CIA informant, but I have a feeling there's more to since the Clintons were helping them out too. Easy way to make money & continue to experiment with mind control...not to mention people injected with "vitamins" as cures.

I can kindof see the CIA putting Miscabbage in charge there.

He clearly isn't very bright and would be easily controllable. He doesn't even have a formal education.

I do also suspect that he is a closeted gay who's been in a relationship with Cruise since the mid to late 80s which would also allow them highly useable blackmail ammunition against him.
