I thought it was weird myself (before having seen the montagraph interpretation) how Shepherd Smith said at least twice that he had a bad feeling about this. I'm no expert on car chases being televised live, but I've seen a few since O.J., and I don't ever recall the broadcaster ever getting froggy like they were anticipating a suicide before.

I found it odd that he veered off the dirt road into the grass at all. I expected him to keep going, but the way he turned and almost seemed to be finding his position was odd. You'd think if he just gave up and decided to do it, he'd simply stop in his tracks and pull the trigger, not find a perfect grassy spot first.

That's my point. "I have a bad feeling about this.... pause.... I have a bad feeling about this..... Pause.... I ha... bang. turn it off!. They knew exactly what was coming. they were basically saying, "Ok guys, get ready... watch this... ready?... Bang!"
