Tonight was the most disappointing exhibit opening I have ever experienced. The attendance was actually zero. The two people seen cut off below are the two staff members who were assigned to help with sales, info, etc.

Not even my wife was there. She has been out of town and traffic delayed her. My mother was sick. Several people had car problems. A few had last minute baby-sitter issues. Those were the ones that actually contacted me. The other 400 people invited just didn't come. I mean, this is how I make part of my income and I was so embarrassed I left early (with my tail between my legs and an alcohol bill I have not figured out yet).

Anyway, it was the oddest thing that has ever happened at an opening for me. It was very disheartening. I know...waaah... Tissue

I'm just a complete polar opposite of everyone in my family both in physical appearance, personality, likes and so on. The only person who was any bit like me was dad and once he died it was like me against my family. I don't even feel connected to the well being of my family. Like even in families with toxic relationships, you would probably still expect some kind of emotional response to a potentially dying family member but I don't get that way.

I guess I could just be a selfish prick.
