Myth: Obama lied about Libya to avoid taking responsibility for what happened.

Truth: It actually appears that the Obama Administration just didn’t know exactly what happened right away and that the facts came out over time; regardless, the Republican politicization of this issue is absolutely disgusting. Here’s why…

President Bush allowed 9/11 to happen under his watch (even after he was specifically warned on August 6th), which is Benghazi times about 1,000. 3,000 Americans lost their lives that day, compared to four in Libya (not that it isn’t a tragedy, but there is a difference in scale), not to mention the fact that some of the most powerful symbols of U.S. power, the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon, were destroyed.

Oh, but wait, we’re supposed to just forget about Bush, right? Wrong again, because like Romney’s economic policies, his foreign policy is almost exactly the same as our last Republican President. Indeed, he’s enlisted almost the same exact team of neo-cons that served as Bush’s advisors. And, if we take his bluster on Syria, Iran, and China seriously, there’s a strong argument to be made that we’ll find ourselves in another war if Romney wins on November 6th.

The other problem with the Republican effort to manufacture outrage about Benghazi is that it’s blatantly immoral and hypocritical. If you don’t think so, ask yourself this question: should Democrats have immediately attacked President Bush for 9/11? Should they have said that he wanted those people to die (as those on the right have said about Obama) within a couple months of the attacks? Look, I’ll admit, after the dust settled and we began to look at what happened more closely, there were many on the Left, including myself, that said Bush was incompetent, and that if he’d been more concerned about the terrorist threat, 9/11 may not have happened. But nearly all Americans had enough sense, decency, and respect for those who lost their lives not to piss on their graves—especially not right after it happened. So if Republicans are really so concerned about those who lost their lives in Benghazi, perhaps they should honor their work and what they stood for, rather than trying to score political points by making it seem as if they lost their lives needlessly—to those of us paying attention, it’s pathetically desperate.

This brings me to a broader point: Republican hypocrisy and malfeasance—another reason why people with any sense of integrity or morality shouldn’t vote for these guys. They win the 2004 election by trashing John Kerry’s military service. They’re currently (it’s nothing new) trying to tell people—minorities who are likely to vote for Democrats—that election day isn’t on the first Tuesday in November. They’ve passed law after law in states they control to make voting more difficult—again for people who are likely to vote for Democrats. Now their politicizing a tragedy to try to score points with the public, and we all know about the rampant lying, as well as the blatant obstructionism and politicization of government. At what point are people going to say enough is enough? At what point do you stop rooting for a team that has to cheat and play dirty to win?

Because by voting for Republicans, voters are in effect saying, “lie, cheat, disenfranchise voters, and dishonor our nation to win.”

So watching the attack in real time via a drone and embassy security camera they didn't have a clue what was going on? So getting cables requesting military help were not read, really? So having recorded audio tape of the communication with embassy were ignored, really? So, OP, is a clueless Obama tool? Probably.

Because Republicans, just like Democrats, refuse to discuss any of the important matters of modern politics, such as:

The need to rescind the Patriot Act and NDAA to restore liberty

The need to stop all Civil Forfeiture laws which have been going on for decades

The need to investigate and prosecute the massive widespread mortgage backed security fraud

The need to end the War on Drugs and the first step would be the legalization of cannabis

The need audit and justify all Defense-related spending and completely obliterate the tons of wasteful and expensive high-tech programs which have proven themselves over and over not to work, not needed or wanted by the troops, and are nothing but welfare for the Defense Contractors

The need to restore our foreign policy to an American-centic policy and not an Israeli-centric policy, and to stop all foreign involvement in our foreign policy making

The need to return to paper-based voting

The need to end the TSA and the Federal Reserve Banks

etcetera, etcetera, etcetera

They knew within MINUTES what was going on.
They had LIVE VIDEO all over that place.
Within the first 2 hours they had the Al Qaida cell claiming responsibility.

Former SEAL, Ty Woods, went against orders and had the bad guys lit up with laser targeting and Obama would not let them drop precision bombs on their heads.

How many layers of military chain-of-command stood by and not do anything?

Where was COMSIXTHFLEET? What was their recommendation?
