Center Fire Reduced Hazard Training

This ammo basically turns to sand upon impact. It is used for close range indoor training. I shoot steel competitions indoors with it - some as close as 3 yards. You really cant reload this stuff either.

Gotcha! Who manufactures this stuff? I'm familiar with the mag-safe ammo and a few of the other frangibles but they're more defense oriented. Thanks for the info, BTW.

I usually use federal, big fan of their ammo (and primers) overall.

And by the way, this would be the absolute worst choice as defensive ammo. It leaves a copper/tin residue all over the feed ramp, barrel, etc. causing a lot of feed issues. Dirty as anything.

On 9 Aug 2012, the Department of Commerce, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration by way of the National Weather Service, put out a solicitation for a small variety of ammunition.

The solicitation breaks down the requirements:

16,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP).
6,000 rounds of frangible, 125-grain CFRHT .40 caliber.
24,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP).

In all, 40,000 rounds of ammunition, and only 500 Transtar II blue 24 x 40 targets are being ordered.

All the ammunition and targets are being spread out over the US to three locations, Ellsworth ME, New Bedford MA, Wall NJ, and St. Petersburg, FL. Only the 24,000 rounds are being sent to Florida, no targets will be shipped there.

One of the same places, that Obama just signed into law, that says that he can appoint whoever he wants to the position without a senate committee?

Why do they need hollow point ammunition?

The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Apparently this is why the have ammunition!

The National Weather Service maintains a fleet of seafaring vessels. Actually, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to say it more properly maintains a fleet of seafaring vessels. The ships are separated in two different fleets—their Atlantic and their Pacific fleets. In total, NOAA has 19 of these ships.

These ships traverse the globe collecting an array of data on the ocean and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the world is not a very safe place.

Because of the dangers in which NOAA ships and crew encounter, especially when they travel close to land, they physically secure themselves. And yes, the best security is a well-armed professional who knows how to shoot with extreme prejudice and accuracy.

The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

I see lots of ammo.

WHERE ARE THE GUNS?

NOAA is going to have to have bought guns to shoot the ammo.

Oh they got a deal on those POS Ruger "Police Carbines" in .40S&W. Ruger knew they weren't going to be able to move them any other way so...

Just read the link.

I'm just curious but can anyone tell me what "No reloads may be used with these weapons" means?

reloads...reloaded brass casing...they want fresh new brass

fresh brass jams less
